Green Aracari Backpack

At 30–40 cm in length and 110–160 grams in weight, the Green Aracari is the smallest toucan species occurring in the lowland forests of northeastern South America. Its diet consists of fruit, insects, nuts, eggs, and sometimes small animals too. Foraging chiefly in the tree canopy and levels below it, these birds live in small flocks, utilizing their trademark vocalizations for mating and alerting one another to danger. Although their population has decreased, it has yet to become "vulnerable" according to the International Red List.
